Thrifted books haul

One of my usual thrift stores closed its old location last week and moved into a new building that gives them twice more space for things to sell and more space to move around. As a member, I received an invitation by email, to go see the new space, and shop, 2 days before the official opening of the store. I usually alkways go for books, especially these days so I wanted to go for that, see the selection and also because the curiosity of the new place got me. Their new space is beautiful, they needed it so much.

Vicious by V.E. Schwab. I've never read her before but I own A Darker Shade of Magic and Our Savage Song by her. I've heard so much about her and her books that I didn't think twice and I didn't care what order I was getting her books as long as I was getting them. I hope to read her stuff soon, for sure.

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson looks like a fun contemporary book but I know nothing about it. I'll admit that this is totally a cover buy. I mean, look at it. So pretty. And I do need varied genres from the fantasy taking up 90% of my shelves. Right? Right!

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo. I have a rule with books. I have to buy the whole series (duology or trilogy) in the same versions. My copy of Six of Crows is in paperback but when I saw this one in hardcover with red sprayed edges, I couldn't leave it there. SoC was there, too, with the purple edges but I didn't see the point of getting a second copy...

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. I own Landline and fangirl by this author but I haven't read them yet. When I saw this one, I wasn't sure about getting it because of it so I left it on the shelves and kept browsing. Obviously, I came back to it to fill the buy 4, get 1 free the store always has.

The Mammoth Book of Steampunk by varied authors. I love, love, love everything steampunk so this one was a no brainer for me. And it was the last book to fill the store's special. Little fun fact is that even though it says the "mammoth" book of, it's a regular sized book but it's got 30 tales inside.

How about you guys?

Did you read any of these books before? What are your thoughts on them?

Did you get any fun books recently?
