About Me

Louise, French Canadian. Over caffeinated. Cat mom to Salem, her darling 2 year old female black kitty (in honor of Salem Saberhagen from Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Salem, Massachussets).

My favorite TV show of all time is Buffy the Vampire Slayer and some of my favorite movies include The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, Harry Potter (all of 'em!), 13 Going on 30, Fast and Furious (especially Fast Five) and Cruel Intentions.

Reading has always been a part of my life but never as much as it's become in the past 2 years. I would read some of what my mother was reading (French Canadian authors mostly!), the Archie Comics and whatever books my school or local library offered me. Also, I was a kid, I didn't know better. And then I found J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter that I started reading in French but finished in English.

Funny enough, it's a couple years later that I've made the decision for myself to start reading all my books in English, as well as watching all my TV shows and movies in English as well. Not only has it improved my English much more than school ever did but I somehow felt better doing this; it made so much more sense.

Can I mention Dean Winchester's answer to having anything real being his boobs in English but translated to boots) in French? I mean, seriously?!

In very late 2017 (let's say beginning December), I learned about the bookish community and my curiosity got the better of me so  I started watching some Booktubers and checking out Bookstagrammers. I signed up to Goodreads shortly after, created a separate Instagram for all things books and revived my Twitter account. And I subscribed to both Owl Crate and LitJoy Crate.

I recently discovered Funko Pops. Can you say obsessed?! 😁

I mainly read YA novels and my bookshelves are filled with fantasy books. I'll clean my palate with a good contemporary, a murder/mystery/thriller, an adult romance...

When I'm not reading, I can be found browsing the internet (Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and livejournal), binge watching my favorite TV shows, watch a good movie, chat with my roommate while taking care of the cats or thrift shopping.
